Private storage is not end-to-end encryption.
Copyright infringement is not allowed.
Operator contact details are pending confirmation. This policy should be reviewed for the operator’s legal obligations before accepting sensitive data.
1. Information we process
Spacedam processes your account details, including your email address, display name, phone number and optional profile photo. We also process the files you upload and their metadata, such as names, file types, sizes, folders, upload dates, favourites, trash status and sharing settings.
When you use paid sharing or withdrawals, relevant records may include file prices, orders, download times, complaints, balances, payout details and withdrawal requests. Card checkout and text-message verification are not currently activated; their providers and additional processing will be described when enabled.
Our hosting and service providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, request details, device information and security logs. On the published site, an approximate country derived from your internet connection helps select a language; browser preferences and a saved language choice are also used. This does not require precise GPS location.
2. Why we use your data
We use data to create and manage accounts, store and organise files, provide previews and downloads, operate sharing, display storage usage, manage support and complaints, and protect the service against misuse.
Where European data-protection law applies, necessary service processing is based on performance of our agreement with you; proportionate fraud prevention and security processing may rely on legitimate interests; legally required records rely on legal obligations. Optional processing that requires consent must have a separate consent choice, which can be withdrawn.
Uploading a file does not grant permission for unrelated advertising or public publication. We do not sell your uploaded files or personal data.
3. File privacy and security
File storage is private rather than a publicly readable bucket. Access uses signed, time-limited links. Account access controls separate users’ file records, and administrative access requires an administrator role. Connections to the site and storage use HTTPS.
Authorised administrators can view and download users’ files. Spacedam is not an end-to-end encrypted or zero-knowledge service, so do not assume only you can read your content. Administrative access should be limited to legitimate service, support, safety and legal needs.
No online service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your password private, use a unique strong password, and avoid uploading passwords, private keys or highly sensitive information unless you have assessed whether this service is appropriate. If a personal-data breach occurs, applicable notification duties apply, including notification to authorities and affected people when required by law.
5. Copyright and prohibited content
Copyright infringement is prohibited on Spacedam. Do not upload, store, distribute, share or sell files unless you own the relevant rights, have the rights holder’s permission, or have another lawful basis. Copyright protection itself is not prohibited: your own copyrighted work is welcome, and you retain your rights in it.
Pirated films, music, books, software, stolen documents and other unauthorised copies are not allowed. Charging for a download does not make an unauthorised copy lawful. Illegal content, malware, fraud, non-consensual intimate material and content that unlawfully exposes someone’s personal data are also prohibited.
Where infringement is substantiated, Spacedam may restrict access, disable share links, remove content or suspend accounts in accordance with applicable law. Repeated infringement may lead to account termination. This policy is not a claim that uploads are automatically scanned for copyright or that every infringement will be detected.
A copyright notice should identify the protected work, the specific Spacedam file or share URL, the basis of ownership or authority, contact details and a good-faith explanation of the alleged infringement. Only necessary information should be provided. Disputed notices and responses must be assessed under the applicable legal procedure.
6. Retention and deletion
Files and account information are retained while needed to provide the service. Moving a file to Trash does not permanently delete it. Use permanent deletion for files you no longer want stored; removing a share link only removes that sharing access.
Some records may need to be retained for security investigations, complaints, legal claims or legally required accounting. Infrastructure logs and backup copies may persist for their applicable retention periods. We do not promise immediate erasure from every backup or a fixed retention period that has not been established.
Public links, downloaded copies and information held independently by recipients cannot necessarily be erased by Spacedam. An account deletion request is distinct from signing out or deleting individual files.
7. Your data-protection rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may request access to your personal data, correction, erasure, restriction of processing or a portable copy. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent for consent-based processing without affecting its previous lawfulness.
We may need to verify your identity before handling a request, and lawful exceptions may apply. Where GDPR applies, requests normally require a response within one month; permitted extensions must be explained. You can complain to your local data-protection authority, including the authority in the European country where you live or work.
If you upload personal data about other people, you are responsible for having a lawful basis and any necessary permissions. Do not use Spacedam to disclose another person’s confidential information without authorisation.
8. Browser storage and international processing
The service uses browser storage for sign-in sessions and preferences such as language and currency. Currency exchange information may be fetched from an external exchange-rate provider, and fonts load from Google Fonts; these providers receive the connection details needed for those requests. Error reporting may process exception details and the page path to diagnose failures. Clearing browser storage may sign you out and reset preferences.
Our current Backblaze file-storage endpoint is in Europe, but this does not mean all account data, logs or provider processing are limited to Europe. Providers may process data in other countries. Where required, international transfers must use an appropriate lawful safeguard, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguards.
This policy does not authorise non-essential tracking. If non-essential cookies or advertising tools are introduced, their purpose and any required consent controls must be provided before use.
9. Operator details, contact and updates
This policy applies to Spacedam. The service operator’s legal name, postal address and dedicated contact for privacy requests and copyright notices have not yet been confirmed and must be published here. Until these details are available, avoid uploading sensitive personal data. An administrator sign-in address alone is not a verified privacy-support channel.
Material changes to this policy will be reflected in the date on this page and, where appropriate or legally required, communicated to account holders. New purposes that require consent will not be justified merely by changing this policy.
